New direction for work

I just returned from a wonderful workshop by Laura Breitman in Warwick, NY. She showed us how to work on canvas and collage our fabric without the use of stitching. This is the piece I worked on at the workshop.

Artisan Depot Reception

It was great fun to see some old friends and make some new ones at the Artisan Depot. The shop is filled to the ceiling with lots of great work by the guild members and others. I also really enjoyed meeting Jennifer and seeing her work at her gallery next door. Her animal portraits are wonderful.

Denise, who runs the Artisan Depot, impressed me with all the activities the guild is involved in. The community is very lucky to have such an active group of artists devoting their time to the community.

Artist of the Month at the Artisan Depot

Starting March 6th my work will be on display at the Artisan Depot in Cowan, Tn. The reception will be from 5pm to 7pm on the 6th. I hope you can stop by to visit with me. My work will be on display there through the end of March.

Elegant Evening of Art

Tonight is the night for In-Town Gallery’s Elegant Evening of Art. The gallery looks great, beginning with the beautiful stained glass snowflakes and elegant woman in the window by Carolyn Insler. Step inside and see our three new artists’ work on the front wall. Amanda Farris, Ellen Franklin and Geraldine Powell have added extraordinary talent to the gallery membership. Geraldine’s agateware pottery is her own unique blend of color and shape developed over years of work and experimentation. Amanda’s mixed media goat’s are to die for. And our very newest member Ellen is off to a great start with one piece sold within days of her work going up. I hope you can stop by this evening from 5 to 8 to enjoy our art and refreshments in an elegant atmosphere. If you can’t make it tonight, the gallery is open every day of the week for very special holiday shopping.
